Games That Don’t Get the Attention They Deserve

Today i was just thinking how refreshing it was to get folks to playing Monsterpocalypse. Where I game locally it always seems that folks are playing the same old same old. It’s either Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy or Warmachine/Hordes. While these games are fun to play, doing the same thing over and over again can get boring. Last years breath of fresh air was AT-43 but with all the changes happening with Rackham it may seem that game will die on the road side due to no retail support from Rackham. The shops here had their pre-orders dropped by Fantasy Flight with no direction on where to go to buy new Rackham products.

So now it’s back to the same old same old with the exception of Monsterpocalypse. Over there years I’ve found some great games that are really good but don’t seem to get the attention I think they deserve. Here we go.

All of the above games don’t require a ton of models to play, and are very affordable to start. I encourage folks to check them out and open up new horizons in your gaming experience.

Looks like Rackham is just re-organizing with new owners. There may be hope yet :).

I really love Dark Age and Rezolution. Anima tactics looks interesting, but expensive for a third game where it’s so hard to find opponents in my area!

    Aberrant Games Top Notch Service

Today I got an email from Aberrant Games which really surprised me. Here’s the message:

Just wanted to let you know that your missing pieces have been shipped. In our newer version of the APAC starter set, there are two different sculpts of the female Enforcer instead of two of the same as in your box. We have sent you one of each sculpt to replace your broken figure.”

I’m really impressed with their customer service. Thanks Aberrant!

    Rezolution Vatacina Crew Starter

Got more Rezolution miniatures in. Here’s the video.

These minis look really good, makes me want to start a new crew. I’m also an early APAC adopter, but I’ve struggled since to find Rezolution players in my area. Fantasy is sadly more popular than sci-fi around here.

Finding other players is really hard for me also which is a shame since it’s a really good sci-fi skirmish system. The sculpts have also been improving.

    Rezolution Revisited

About 3 years ago I bought into a new game called Rezolution. The mechanics were great but the model sculpts left little to be desired. I’ve revisited their site and see some improvement in their sculpts and was compelled to dig up my models and actually paint them up. Here’s the first model. of the 4 original starters I bought in 2005.
