Picked up this box at the local shop this past Monday. Its been a while since I’ve worked on my Circle and I’m working on a all girl theme with Kaya and Tharn girls. Hopefully it all works out.

Last month I bought the Nexus One to replace my G1. Most of the pictures of my miniatures in the past month has been taken with this phone. Now that WordPress has officially made a app for Android I can. Now do it all from the convenience of my phone.
It’s 2010 and new life is being breathed into this blog. I’ll be posting some pictures of some stuff I’ve worked on over the Christmas season.
2009 is almost over and toward the end of the year it seems like I have lost my steam in keeping this blog updated. Real life and work has kept by busy lately but for 2010 I hope to bring new life into my blog. Couple things I’m thinking of doing is adding more video. I just got a nice handy HD digital video camera and I think I can put it to good use on this site.
I hope 2010 brings the energy and enthusiasm I need to keep this blog going.
I pledge to buy nothing miniature related for the month of June. I already have too much stuff to paint that I need to catch up on. Let’s see if this pledge works.
Early this year I submitted a kit idea to Wargames Factory. Today I got an email saying that it was approved. Check it out here.
Congratulations, dude! Hats off to you on that one!
Check out Episode 5 of the League of Extraordinary Geeks podcast and hear my thoughts and opinions while I’m high on Halls cough drops.
Actually I’ve been on Twitter for sometime, I just linked my blog ot it.
Wargames Factory has caught my attention with their 6mm sci-fi submissions. It looks like their robot sprue is ago, but I also -pre-ordered thier near future marine corps and hover tank to have my something for my robots to fight. I hope those get produced as well.

Wargames Factory has a services called the Liberty and Union League where folks can submit ideas for a miniatures sprue to be made. You pitch the idea to them and they solicit it. If you can get 1000 folks interested in buying the idea that you pitched it gets made. I pitched 2 ideas for them and here it is.
Idea Number 1
Set Period: 20th Century/Modern
Set Title: Custom Male Superhero Kit
Size/Scale: 28mm
Set Description (Please be as detailed as possible): A plastic kit that allows you to make 1 custom male superhero. In this sprue are various torsos, heads, arms, legs that connect with via ball-joint for easy connectivity and a variety of poses.. Customizations include but are not limited to: heads (open faced, masked, helmet, etc), arms (glove and hand variations), legs (boots and feet variations), capes, weapons, etc. The idea of this kit is that it would allow you to make the superhero of your choice.
Reference Material Suggestions: Comics, Modern, Golden Age.
Idea Number 2 (Same as the first… just female)
Set Period: 20th Century/Modern
Set Title: Custom Female Superhero Kit
Size/Scale: 28mm
Set Description (Please be as detailed as possible): A plastic kit that allows you to make 1 custom female superhero.
As soon as I get word of my submission I’ll post. Till then here’s a small poll.
Excellent! I can totally get behind this.
Sounds like a great idea but, to be honest, making only one hero per sprue is a little limiting. Why not allow for multiple supers from a single sprue.
It might mean less options on the sprue, but it might be a little more desirable that way.
Hmm, at $4/sprue that isn’t so bad for a single figure.
Also, depending on the final size, the spare bits could be mixed with other plastics, like Imperial Guard, or other Warlord products.
Here’s hoping Warlord like your idea :)
I suggested something like this a long time ago and it never seemed to get posted.
It’s that time of year again. I’ll keep my list short and simple.
That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Here’s to 2009!
The ‘buy then paint’ is going to be the toughest to stick to – I know I’m going to try to do that this year but I get the feeling it’s not going to happen.
Good luck with that one!
:-)
As 2008 comes to a close I’d like to reflect on some highlights this past year in terms of gaming.
AE-WW2
The rulebook for Alternate Event’s World War 2 is finally released. Lots of good stuff in this book but I really need someone to play this game with.
Confrontation: Age of Ragnarok
I got into this game early on but it just never caught on locally. I hope that will change in 2009 as I really think it’s a great mass combat fantasy game.
Warhammer 40,000
I finally got into 40k this past year. It’s the first miniatures game that I’ve purchased back in 2003 and only in 2008 did I play my first game. I find not having any attachment to any army as this year alone I’ve bought and sold 2 armies (Tau and Daemons).
Warmachine/Hordes
I didn’t get as much game time with Warmachine/Hordes as I would have liked to this year but it seems that this year was all about Menoth for me. Next year I’ll spread things around starting with Cygnar. I really need to finish my Press Gangers so I can have a fully painted pirate army.
Collectible Miniatures
Collectible miniatures were big for me this year as I got into both World of Warcraft Miniatures and Monsterpocalypse. Both great games with innovative mechanics.
Pulp City
After a year of anticipation I finally got some Pulp City miniatures. I look forward to getting more in 2009.
GenCon 2008
I went to GenCon this year and it was a blast. I want to go next year and every year after. It was really nice to meet a lot of the creators and developers of the games that I love. Lots to do and lots to see. I also qualified for the Reaper Speed painting contest as I did when I went to GenCon SC 06.
AT-43
AT-43 seemed to take a back seat for me this year. I hope to change that next year. Next year I will finally get my hands on a Dotch Yaga to crush my enemies!
All in all a really great year. I’m sure I missed other stuff but hey it’s almost new years here and I have to get stuff ready. Till next year!

I was thinking the same thing – only I know I’m picking up few things once they appear on Hasslefree’s store. I’ve had to call off going to the UK games expo this year though which is a bit disappointing but financially necessary.
My aim for June is to complete my Blood Angels 40k force (a diversion from my Ork force). Altogether I’ve got to complete 2250 points worth. Which is actually doable now that I’ve got the spray gun – base coating becomes very quick indeed. I’ve had a moment of army painting technique inspiration from a recent article in White Dwarf by Chris Peach.

Cool. The new Privateer Bastions come out this month and that might break my pledge. Although if I don’t technically by them then I should be okay. :)
