Pitching My Idea…
Wargames Factory has a services called the Liberty and Union League where folks can submit ideas for a miniatures sprue to be made. You pitch the idea to them and they solicit it. If you can get 1000 folks interested in buying the idea that you pitched it gets made. I pitched 2 ideas for them and here it is.
Idea Number 1
Set Period: 20th Century/Modern
Set Title: Custom Male Superhero Kit
Size/Scale: 28mm
Set Description (Please be as detailed as possible): A plastic kit that allows you to make 1 custom male superhero. In this sprue are various torsos, heads, arms, legs that connect with via ball-joint for easy connectivity and a variety of poses.. Customizations include but are not limited to: heads (open faced, masked, helmet, etc), arms (glove and hand variations), legs (boots and feet variations), capes, weapons, etc. The idea of this kit is that it would allow you to make the superhero of your choice.
Reference Material Suggestions: Comics, Modern, Golden Age.

Sounds like a great idea but, to be honest, making only one hero per sprue is a little limiting. Why not allow for multiple supers from a single sprue.
It might mean less options on the sprue, but it might be a little more desirable that way.

Actually I think it’s less limiting in terms of it’s purpose. The main purpose is to allow you to make one figure but have many options. I believe the cost for a sprue is $4. So for 4 dollars you get a single sprue that make a unique figure. The sprue contians multiple heads, left and right arms, left and right lower arms, torsos, legs, boots, and accessories such as weapons, armor, etc.
Now less options on a sprue would take away from it’s original purpose by limiting the kind of figure you can make by replacing options with multiples of the same.

Hmm, at $4/sprue that isn’t so bad for a single figure.
Also, depending on the final size, the spare bits could be mixed with other plastics, like Imperial Guard, or other Warlord products.
Here’s hoping Warlord like your idea :)
